1. Overview

ConvertwithMe ("we", "us", or "our") operates a privacy-first file conversion service at Convertwith.me (the "Service"). Our fundamental principle is that your files are your business. All file conversions are processed entirely within your web browser using client-side technology (WebAssembly and JavaScript). Your files are never uploaded to our servers or any third-party servers.

2. File Processing & Data Handling

No File Uploads. When you use our Service, your files are processed entirely on your device. The conversion is performed by code running in your browser (using WebAssembly and JavaScript libraries). No file data is transmitted to our servers or any third-party server at any point during the conversion process.

No File Storage. We do not store, cache, or retain any files you convert. Once you close the browser tab or navigate away, the converted file exists only in your browser's memory and is immediately released.

No File Tracking. We have no ability to see, access, or reconstruct the files you convert. We do not log file names, file sizes, file types, or conversion results.

3. Analytics

We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-preserving, GDPR-compliant analytics service. Plausible does not use cookies, does not collect personal data, and does not track users across websites. All data is aggregated and anonymized. We collect only basic page view statistics (which pages are visited and referral sources) to understand usage patterns and improve the Service.

4. Advertising (Monetag)

We display advertisements through Monetag, a third-party advertising network. Monetag may collect certain information through their ad scripts, including:

  • IP address (for geographic targeting)
  • Browser type and version
  • Device type and operating system
  • Page URL and referrer
  • Cookies for ad personalization and frequency capping

Monetag's use of data is governed by their own privacy policy. We do not control Monetag's data collection practices. Monetag ads are displayed only after conversion is complete, and never during file upload or processing. A sticky footer ad is displayed with a close button so users can dismiss it.

If you prefer not to see Monetag ads, you may use an ad blocker. This will not affect the functionality of the converter in any way.

5. Cookies

Conversion Functionality Cookies: None. We do not use any cookies for the core file conversion functionality. The converter works without any cookies enabled.

Third-Party Cookies. Monetag may set cookies for advertising purposes. Plausible Analytics does not use any cookies. We do not set first-party cookies.

6. WebAssembly (WASM) Resources

To perform file conversions, our Service downloads WebAssembly (.wasm) files and JavaScript libraries from CDN servers (jsdelivr.net and npm CDN). These are standard, publicly available library files. These downloads are necessary for the converter to function and are the only network requests made during the conversion process. WASM files may be cached by your browser for performance on repeat visits.

7. Cross-Origin Isolation Headers

Our Service sets Cross-Origin-Opener-Policy and Cross-Origin-Embedder-Policy HTTP headers on all pages. These headers are required for SharedArrayBuffer support, which is necessary for WebAssembly-based conversions to function. These headers enhance your security by preventing cross-origin attacks.

8. GDPR Compliance (EU Users)

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to:

  • Access any personal data held about you
  • Request correction or deletion of your data
  • Object to processing of your data
  • Data portability

Since we do not collect or store any personal data or files, there is no data to access, correct, or delete from our systems. For data collected by Monetag, please contact Monetag directly or exercise your rights through their opt-out mechanisms.

We do not require a legal basis for processing personal data because we do not process personal data. The only data collection on our site is performed by third parties (Monetag and Plausible).

9. CCPA Compliance (California Users)

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), California residents have the right to:

  • Know what personal information is collected
  • Request deletion of personal information
  • Opt out of the sale of personal information
  • Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights

10. Children's Privacy

Our Service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Since we do not collect personal information from anyone, this is inherently satisfied.

11. Security

We take security seriously. All connections to our Service are encrypted with HTTPS. The Cross-Origin isolation headers we set provide additional protection against side-channel attacks. Your files are processed in an isolated browser context and are never transmitted over the network.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. If we make material changes, we will provide a prominent notice on our homepage.
